Currently, 90% of up younger consumers (18 to 29) are using social media platforms, and most of them are engaged with multiple platforms, the most popular being Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
These social media platforms have a combined total of close to 8 billion users, with over 2 million of them being in the United States alone by the year 2023.
Since these social media platforms are so pervasive in our culture and have essentially taken the number one spot for news, brand engagement, and cultural trends, it’s obvious that engaging with consumers via these platforms is the only way for brands to survive and continue to gain an audience.
However, many brands are attempting to go about this in the wrong ways by trying to appeal to everyone instead of a target audience, and by trying to be on every social media platform instead of doing just a few extremely well.
Brand engagement doesn’t need to be about quantity, but more focused on the quality of marketing and engagement.
Succeeding on social media means honing your content to be about a specific, entertaining, and interesting message. It also means learning what your target audience is looking for, and understanding the tone and timing that will be the most effective.
Brands don’t need to be good at every social media engagement, but they do need to be excellent with just a few. Learn more about finding a perfect audience below:
