How Web 3.0 Will Impact the Future of Work

Web3.0 is the future of the internet, and it’s arriving sooner than expected.. The current web, Web2.0 expanded on its predecessor Web1.0 to create digital ownership. Digital ownership is only controlled by large corporations in Web2.0, which is the aim of the new web, Web3.0. Web3.0 is creating personal digital ownership and self-sovereignty.

The shift to Web3.0 technologies has already begun. Tech like cryptocurrencies has skyrocketed into the mainstream, with over 100 million people using crypto to exchange currency and nearly 20,000 businesses worldwide accepting it as payment. The growth of Web3.0 technologies is only continuing to rise, which will impact more and more people.

The new Web also affects the future of work. It has drastically increased demand for jobs like technologists, full-stack developers, and data scientists. These jobs don’t go without proper compensation, either. Independent workers are making over 1.5x that of a normal salary worker. These high-demand jobs also allow greater flexibility than the conventional salary job. In 2019, more than half of workers had flexible schedules outside the normal 9-5.
