Great Sleep Starts with a Great Sleep Environment

In our post-pandemic, high inflation, war-torn, modern world, getting the best rest possible should top our priority list every single day. 

We have a million things to focus on at every moment; we’re hyper connected, and “downtime” is so much a thing of the past for most of us, but that shouldn’t be the case. In fact, to stay the most effective and brilliant we can be, getting proper sleep is one of the most important factors. 

Setting parameters for ourselves such as putting down the phone at a set time, giving ourselves time to wind down without too many external distractions, and taking care of our bodies through bedtime hygiene are all highly important for rest. However, equally as important is the environment we create in our sleeping space. 

Some of the important aspects of a restful sleeping space are things like choosing calming colors, having scents that help us to relax, decluttering the room, and choosing bedding that is comfortable, cool, and calming. 

Studies show that what touches our skin as we sleep matters a great deal in determining the quality of that sleep. Choosing good quality sheets, with a thread count of 200-800, helps us to get the best rest and to function effectively the next day.
